Mom's Apron Strings Quilt
The finished quilt is 40” x 40”, perfect as a wallhanging or a sweet naptime quilt for a little girl.

Mom's Apron Strings was inspired by an heirloom quilt that I made with my mother’s old aprons while on a quilt retreat. While I was making the quilt, the phrase “My heart is tied with my Mother’s apron strings” kept running through my mind. I embroidered that saying on an embroidered napkin for that quilt and tucked hankies into the apron pockets. Shortly after arriving home, I received a package from Marcus Brothers with the collection of “Love and Inspiration” fabric in it – complete with printed hankies. I knew instantly what I would do with that beautiful collection of fabrics.

You can use collected heirlooms on your quilt or make new ones. This quilt can also be enlarged to fit on a bed or for a larger wallhanging. All kinds of treats and saved items can be put in the apron pockets for gift giving: pictures, recipes on 3 x 5 cards, candy, love letters, or other treasures.

You can also make little girl, Debbie aprons using the patterns inside.
