Podcast #217 – Hangin’ Out with Andrea Johnson and Kelly Biscopink!

In which, I do a Hangout via GooglePlus with Andrea and Kelly, authors of the stellar new book:

Their book is well-written, the quilt projects beautiful and inspiring, and their fun relationship and personalities bloom from the pages. I had a great time talking with these two talented quilters — I think you’ll really enjoy “hanging out” with them too, as you listen.

For a chance to win your very own copy of their book, leave a comment on my blog here, visit their blogs and leave a comment — and I will choose the winner on December 17th!

Andrea’s blog AndieJohnsonSews

Kelly’s blog StitchyQuiltStuff  (Remember to click on the highlighted link, not the name of their blogs!)

and don’t forget this:

The pattern is in stock and ready to ship. It would be a great gift for any sewist and perfect for a beginner. Just add some charm packs or a Layer Cake, or cut 5″ squares from your own stash to create a gift kit of your own! I’ll ship USPS Priority two-day to keep the cost down and the shipping time short.

Order here.

Happy quilting and sewing!!

The podcast interview with Kelly and Andie was great today. I found out about your podcasts from Kelly’s blog. Seems like I have some catching up to do.

I should get this book for our guild library. I realize we don’t have any modern quilt books- yet. I love how the authors explain the esthetics or the movement.
PS ordered my skirt pattern! for the same reason you made it- my Indian rayon one is wearing out.

  6. Marita says:

    Hi Annie,
I sure enjoyed your show with Kelly and Andrea. Did you see Kelly’s Dear Jane Quilt? Holy smokes it’s going to be gorgeous! Thanks for interviewing them and for talking about there book. Cheers!

Loved this podcast! I’m a member of our local modern quilt guild in St. Louis, but I’ve get to make a modern quilt. I love the attitude and the aesthetic, but so many of the patterns are very simple and I like something a bit more challenging. Sounds like this book would be right up my alley! It’s definitely on my wish list!

  9. Jane says:

Loved the interview. Their friendship really comes through and that makes me interested in seeing the book. Thanks, Annie & Merry Christmas!

  10. Ellen says:

I really enjoyed the interview and now I have found two new blogs to follow. It was so nice of them to post pictures of the quilts you talked about!

  11. Judy McNeel says:

Great interview! I would love to own the book. I think the fresh, new modern quilts are going to bring many new younger quilters into the fold. Some of us old quilters might enjoy making a quilt with “the look”, too!

  12. Phaye says:

Annie, great podcast. Thanks for turning me on to 2 more blogs that I ‘need’ to follow. I love, love the NYB quilt. And the stacked coin quilt is stunning.
    Thank again
