Transition

It’s a little hard to see, but I am getting smaller.

This is my favorite “little black dress”.

It’s a classic Jones New York dress that is made with impeccable quality and fit me perfectly when I bought it 7 years ago. But I weighed more then than I do now.

I wore this dress to church a couple weeks ago, and my good friend pulled me aside and told me that that was the last day I could wear this dress — my favorite dress. (It looks like a gunny sack on me now — and because of the way the dress is constructed — completely lined with top-stitched princess seams — it would cost more than it’s worth to have it altered)

So I had to memorialize my dress and have this picture taken.

I know I’m still tubby, but officially, I have gone from a size 22 to a size 16.

Not bad, eh?

Well, it would be better if I had some size 16 clothes… but I currently have one pair of jeans that actually fit correctly. I also have a pair of size 14 black jeans that my friend, Gwen, passed on to me after she lost weight — as an incentive for the future.

That future is now closer than before. Woo hoo!

You look incredible! My hat is off to you. I know from personal experience that losing weight is one of the HARDEST things to do. I am really impressed with your perseverance! When I was losing weight, one of the best investments I made was a couple of wrap skirts like these: http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/group.pl?id=26 I hemmed them a little bit, but they were FABULOUS because they fit me at any size!

  12. Sue Nichols says:

Annie you look amazing! And your hair is lighter, yes? I wonder if I will recognize you next time we meet.

  13. Jeanie says:

Yea! Annie! I know how hard this is! You inspire me!

  14. Hey! I figured it out. The name box is ABOVE the NAME word not below. So, I wanted to say, Annie, YOU LOOK FABULOUS! I am so happy for you! I am about to embark on a losing streak myself. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will take. I’ve dropped in to your blog a few times lately. You’re doing it! What you always wanted. You are IN the big world of Quilting. It just seems like we’re sitting around having a great talk when I listen to you. I wish I had lived closer over these years so I could have given you copies of the photos you lost. Sigh. Look for that whole situation to be redeemed somehow. I helped my friend make and we’re finishing a quilt this week of light and dark green woven hearts on muslin but I ALWAYS forget how to bind the edge. I heard you teach it on a blog but have no idea what date it was. And NOT to mention mitered corners! Sheesh huh? Great to see that photo of you! Valerie
