A Podcast of a Different Type

Back in May, when we all converged on Salt Lake City for Quilt Market, my quilty pals Gina Halladay, Beth and Liz Hawkins (you know, the LizzieB girls) and I got together to do a podcast a little different than we have normally done…

We did a podcast for the Mormon Channel and the Everything Creative podcast. Here is the link to our podcast, # 49 — Professional Quilting.

Did we talk about quilts?

We sure did. We also talked about what it’s like to be busy moms in the industry and where we get our inspiration.

L- R: Gina, Annie, Beth and host, Nancy Hanson. Liz joined us from her home in PA.

The microphone was on the other side of the table that it usually is for me…

(and those were pretty cool microphones.. and headphones too!)

It was so cool to tape the show in a real professional studio.

We had so much fun — Nancy is a great host and we loved talking with her and Producer, Tamilisa Miner (who took all of the photos).

When you click on the link above, it will take you to the page for our podcast and show you more pictures. To listen to the podcast, you will need to click on the link that says Listen Now or you can download it to your computer/iPad to transfer to your iPod. You can also subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.

We hope you enjoy hearing from us in a different format !

And, there IS a Giveaway with this podcast –

a personalized copy of my book

a copy of “Quiltin’ Happy”, Liz and Beth’s Market book with 7 hip quilts

Gina’s Daisy Dew Drop pattern (the little daisy floorcloths — ultra cool!)

The lucky winner receives all three prizes — So leave a comment by October 29th and let us know what you learned about us in the Everything Creative podcast that you didn’t know before. Remember to check back to see if you’re the lucky winner on Sunday.

Love seeing the photo’s and hearing the podcast. I loved hearing that Annie has her own podcast. I”m fairly new to quilting so this was really fun learning about all of your beginnings and where you live and what your doing. Love your qpplique quilt Annie. Thank you all for the opportunity to enter.

  2. Love those floorcloths, fun and funky. I bought some floorcloth and mediums, now I need to make some, maybe one for my daughter for her new place.

It was such an inspiration to hear about everyones faith and belief in God. This was the first time that I heard about the quilt you made for your son-it was definitely inspired by God. God gave each of you a gift which you share. May God Bless you and your family.

  4. Paule-Marie says:

I didn’t realize that you and the LizzieB gals met at Quilt Market. Thank you for the opportunity to enter and for your podcasts

I did not know that the Lizzie B Girls have NEVER lived near each other. I loved hearing about your Christmas quilt for your son…done with inspiration. Truly our talents are gifts from God so (when I am not too frazzled to remember) I do ask for help. I listened to this once, earlier, after you emailed me and suggested it. What a fabulous sisterly interchange of creative minds and hearts. My own sister will soon live in Utah and we feel that, with the help of technology (as you talked about-)at quilts used by those we love will outlast us and will tell their own story. Thanks for the inspiration and for putting this on the “podcast’ for the world to benefit from!

  6. Aniza says:

interesting insights of professional quilters as there are so much of inspirations and family supports.

  7. Nancy says:

I have heard the Lizzy B girls were sil’s but I didn ‘t realize your were all Mormons! How great that you have bonded through that central connection. I also find it funny that the kids really prefer the hot pockets to mom’s homemade cooking!! I can relate to that!

  8. Lori says:

Wow! I really really enjoyed listening to this podcast :) I had heard you speak of your son and that he was away on a mission, but I don’t think I realized you were LDM. It’s hard to pick my favorite part…I loved hearing about your Christmas quilt for your son, but I think my favorite was your analogy comparing your family to the trees that grow in a circle with shallow roots, but each tree holds the other up when times are rough. Thanks Annie! I really enjoyed this ;)

  9. Kathleen says:

I didn’t know the Lizzie b girls were Mormon too, cool!

I have tried downloading this podcast but nothing happens … could not find it in iTunes. Missing all the fun… boo hoo…
